Southern Geotechnical Engineering is a professional consulting engineering firm specialising in the field of geotechnical engineering. SGE was established by Pieter Oosthuizen in 2007 with the aim of providing clients with practical, cost effective design solutions specifically tailored to client’s geotechnical needs and requirements. The company is based in Pretoria and perform work for clients throughout South Africa as well as in other African countries including Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mozambique, Angola, Malaysia, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Swaziland, DRC and Sierra Leone. Work was also recently undertaken in Canada.

As a small consultancy firm, SGE is able to focus and understand the needs of each specific client and to provide customised effective solutions and deliver economical results. SGE uses advanced modelling software to ensure maximum efficiency in both engineering solutions and delivery time of projects.

Leadership

All technical work performed by SGE are under the direct guidance of Pieter Oosthuizen whom is a registered professional engineer in South Africa.  Pieter has accumulated in excess of 25 year’s experience directly relating to the field of geotechnical engineering. Pieter is registered with both the Engineering Council of South Africa (Pr. Eng. No. 970670), as well as the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE Fellow No. 91045).
